Welcome to the website of When Pigs Fly, Waterford CT’s neighborhood diner, where you are treated as though you’re a guest in our home.

The first question everybody seems to ask has to do with our name, so let’s address that first. Partners, Sarina and Gwen McGugan, took over as operators of the Somewhere In Time Restaurant in Mystic, 10 years ago, and somehow survived all the craziness involved with getting a new restaurant operation up and running. It was then that Sarina and Gwen decided they would NEVER, EVER open up another restaurant. You probably already have guessed where this is going … but the joke between the two was that they would open up their next restaurant, “When Pigs Fly!”

So, when a customer of Somewhere In Time approached Sarina & Gwen about opening another location, the answer was an immediate and resounding, no! But after looking at the space available and seeing the hidden potential of the Waterford site, their minds were slowly changed. Once the decision was made, there was only one name that would be appropriate for the new eatery: When Pigs Fly.
